The National Heritage Board (Riksantikvaren)
Vidi has developed new digital solutions for the National Heritage Board – the directorate for cultural heritage management
In 2019, the National Heritage Board chose Vidi as a supplier following a public tender competition. The National Heritage Board is responsible for the management of cultural monuments, cultural environments and cultural-historical landscapes. The National Heritage Board is a directorate, and part of the environmental administration.
The National Heritage Board’s new website and intranet must be anchored in the design profile and follow guidelines for universal design.

Design Identity
Colors and Typography
Vidi has used the National Heritage Board’s color palette for digital surfaces. The colors follow WCAG 2.0 (web content availability guidelines).

Pdf-generator
Vidi has developed a pdf generator that generates pdf with table of contents, front page and back page based on content published on the website.
Solution
New web portal
For the National Heritage Board, we have chosen to offer WordPress as a publishing solution due to the large amount of reusable modules and the scalability of the tool. In addition, the tool is very easy to maintain and further develop. This gives the National Heritage Board a robust and cost-effective platform that is very scalable.
The design is responsive and is universally designed in accordance with the requirements for universal design of public services.

Intranet
New Intranet
The intranet is, like riksantikvaren.no, developed with WordPress CMS. The intranet has been developed according to the National Heritage Board’s needs and is easy to administer.
For the intranet we have:
- Developed an integration with Simployer.
- Integrated WordPress with Active Directory, to offer single sign-on. This is also used for presentation of employees.
